A friend came up to me And she said "Why's it always gotta be Just a sad, sad song Someone's falling apart It's always not enough money and too much heart." And right away I could see That's sometimes how it seemed And I don't wanna be a bitch And I don't wanna just hate on rich folks Though that's Kind of how we have our fun Still just for her This is a positive one I like the bill of rights and I like to ride my bicycle And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie I like to go that extra mile to turn your frown into a smile And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie I enjoy speaking my mind And blaring records late at night And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie I just wanna drink some whiskey And hang with good company And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie For the rest of our lives We'll probably work for someone else So for tonight We are having a party Here's to Montrose beach and Chicago public library And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie I like not having to worry about rationed electricity And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie And access to uncensored news, cheap booze, OH AMERICA! And everybody gets their little piece of the pie Yeah everybody gets their little piece of the pie Simple pleasures in Simple pleasures in America Simple pleasures in America

I can’t support
 one single troop
 when the organs splinte r
it’s never done in truth
it’s all profiteering - colonial spawn
not a lack of education
or ignorance’s bliss
you sign the line you gotta know…

I’m not naïve enough to think we can do without, but…
until our forces are as small as can be
and until we save more lives than we take
I won’t fly your yellow ribbon stained red

hail to the heroes – harbingers of death and terror
there’s no threat to protect
freedom’s just a word that blindly holds their faith
there’s no threat to protect I’m not proud of where I’m from
patriotism bleeds supremacy
when we start thinking like global citizens
they’ll be no need for militarism

The T.V.'s on, you're somewhere far away The silent static's company A frequency of rain My eyes are heavier tonight And I can't stay awake I woke up in a haze Without a shore in sight Stuck and drifting aimlessly Wading out those stormy nights You're lonely and I'm out there I wake up on the floor tonight I know I'll see you with the sun You're the only one I know I'll see you with the sun You're the only one for me When I'm alone, I think about a face I've got a picture in my head I wanna recreate I feel you sleeping next to me And I never wanna wake I know I'll see you with the sun You're the only one I know I'll see you with the sun You're the only one for me

about

Hi! Thank you for purchasing this compilation to benefit the Navajo Nation's COVID19 Relief Fund. 100% of all proceeds for as long as this comp exists will be donated to: www.gofundme.com/f/housing-for-covid19-struck-on-navajo-nation.

What inspired this album was that around May 18, the Navajo Nation surpassed New York and New Jersey for the highest per-capita COVID19 infection rate in the country. I was floored and had to understand HOW that happened. Below are some news articles and statistics websites highlighting this:

Ryan Singer, a longtime Navajo artist and a friend, was generous enough to provide these these important Navajo words to share, that are positive and have much meaning to the Navajo Nation during this time.
Note: The punctuation is very important to their meaning, which can easily be lost/obscured if copied and pasted via auto-correct.

Bíla’ ashdla’ii niidlí. = We are (all) five-fingered people. This symbolizes five fingers on one hand, all people, humankind, humanity.

Ayóó’ó’ni’ = Love

K’é = Family, clanship, kinship

K’é hwiindzin = Belief in kinship (which creates mutual support)

Hada’ííníílníh = We are hopeful

Tsodizin = Prayer

Ahxééh hwiindzin = Being grateful, thankful

THANK YOU for purchasing this compilation and supporting the Navajo Nation during this difficult time.
